Out of State Trips for the 2008-2009 Season*

With the start of winter and the ski season rapidy approaching,
now is the time to sign up for one of our Out of State Trips!

Telluride, Colorado -- January 15 through January 20, 2009

Early Bird Price -- $1410 per person
Regular Price -- $1480 per person

Stashed among the highest concentration of 14,000 foot peaks in North America, Telluride’s spectacular scenery is undeniably some of the most beautiful in the Rockies. But the breathtaking views are just a part of what makes Telluride stand out among mountain destinations. A spirit of adventurous individualism permeates the town and defines the region. Their historic buildings, quaint bakeries and local watering holes, five-star restaurants, sophisticated shops and some of the finest spas.

If all this does not draw you there the skiing will. There’s no traffic or long lines for shuttle buses, and in most cases no driving after you’ve arrived, as Telluride’s free gondola is the main source of transportation. This is Arriba’s first time to Telluride, so enjoy the adventure.

The Trip Package includes at of the following:
• Round trip airfare on United from LAX to Denver then connect to Montrose
• 5 nights lodging at Bear Creek Lodge – Upper Valley allowing for ski in/out
• Transfer bus from/to Montrose Airport
• 4 days of ski lift tickets

Whistler, BC, Canada (Gay Pride Week) February 3 through February 9, 2009

Early Bird Price -- (unavailable after August 8)
Regular Price -- $1530 per person

This Gay friendly town is the backdrop for the 2010 Winter Olympics. They have since expanded and enhanced this beautiful village. This is an extremely popular ski week for both men and women. Whistler is a charming European style village sitting at the base of both Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains. They have the highest vertical drops in North America. There are plenty of planned events after your ski or spa day, such as, après’ ski, dances, a comedy night, and just meandering around the town. This is a trip that has something for everyone.

• Round trip airfare on Alaska Air from LAX to Vancouver
• 5 nights lodging at the Stoney Creek Condos
• Transfer bus from/to Vancouver Airport and Whistler
• 4 days of ski lift tickets
FYI – Due to the high demand at Whistler during this time the Condo Association are very inflexible and are requiring an earlier than usual commitment from us. An email was sent out to all club members for an early bird sign-up due by August 8th.

Nagano, Japan -- February 7 through February 21, 2009

This amazing itinerary spends two days touring Tokyo, before heading out to Nagano on the Bullet Train. In Nagano we’ll tour the beautiful Zenkoji Temple and visit the snow monkeys. Then we’ll head to Hakuba for 4 days of skiing, including an optional backcountry day. We will be in town for the Nagano Gay Ski days. Hakuba/Happo-One is arguably the most popular winter sports region in Japan and home to the 1998 Olympics. Then heading out of the Japanese Alps we’ll visit the impressive Matsumoto Castle on our way to Kyoto. This ancient city takes you back in time, home to the geishas, Buddhist temples and preserved architecture, where you will find castles high on the hillside. After three days sightseeing in Kyoto, we will head to Osaka for the last day and fly from there back home. This is truly a dream trip!

• 4 days of ski lift tickets

General Notes and Rules on out of state trips:

1. The Club reserves the right to cancel any trip if the minimum participation quotas are not met.
2. Individuals who cancel greater than 60 days prior to departure may lose their deposit unless their space is resold. Cancellations of less than 60 days prior to departure may incur forfeiture of their payment unless space can be re-sold from the waiting list. In that event ticketing change penalties will apply.
3. Credit card payment can be arranged but requires a surcharge, usually 3%.
4. Paypal may also be used but requires a fee direct to Paypal.
5. Airline carriers are strictly enforcing a 50-pound limit. Airlines will charge for luggage, which is the responsibility of the traveler ($15 for first bag (some airlines free); $25 for second, 3rd $100). A true boot bag and pair of ski’s will be considered as one bag. The Airlines may also tack on fuel or other surcharges until our tickets are paid in full. This cost, if applicable, will be passed onto the members on the trip.
6. For out of state members requiring alternate transportation arrangements, please contact the out of state trip chair (Stan) via email.
7. Optional Trip Insurance is available to participants and varies in cost per trip. It will be approximately 6% of the trip cost. Please contact Stan via email for further inquiry.
8. Lodging costs may be subject to foreign currency fluctuations, which will be passed onto the members on the trip.

Cancellation policy
If you cancel prior to the closing date of the trip, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged. If you cancel after the closing date of the trip, then there will be no refund unless the space is re-sold. If it is re-sold then only a $50 cancellation fee will be charged.

If quotas for the trips look like they will not be met, (to maintatin group rates), the trip may be cancelled.

Waiting list policy
We maintain a waiting list for all trips. Members are not allowed to transfer or trade their spaces with anyone else. If you cannot make a trip, you need to cancel your spot. If the trip is sold-out, the next person on the waiting list will be offered the spot.

Trip insurance may be avialable, This is not included in the cost of this trip.
